I hope you are all doing great and staying safe inside. Today I wanted to give you some great tips to adjust to your quarantine guidelines and self isolation requirements. Yayyy! 🤗
I know that self isolation can be boring😫 or frustrating🤬 at times, so I wanted to take a moment to give you some ways you can make self isolation more productive and enjoyable for you.💪
- Tip One: A Therapeutic Approach.😌:
Ok everybody, let's get rid of all that negative energy!😤 (Take a deep breath in... hold it.... and exhale...) LOL. now replace it with a more positive outlook! 😃. Let's continue by loosening up and doing some light stretches (you can even put on some music and dance, or do a toilet paper workout like my friend below:
Just do whatever gets you in a loose and relaxed state. Once you finished stretching, sit down and close your eyes. Come into your meditative state. Take a few deeps breaths and start thinking of positive things to tell yourself, this will help in replacing those negative thoughts or worries you may have. Focus on your breathing, keeping it nice and relaxed. This helps the tense and stress melt away like a cool block of ice on a hot summer's day.
Once feel calm, take a moment to completely empty your mind, listen to your breathing and your heartbeat. This should give you a sense of peace and make you feel lighter than air. Keep that feeling going as long as you need to feel wholly refreshed in both mind and body😇.
- Tip Two: The Productive Approach.💪
If you are anything like me with an A type personality, you may find it hard to sit still, so it's time to get things done! These can be things you may have been wanting to do around your house, like remodeling, spring cleaning, redecorating and so on. 🏡 Other things you can do from home would be to create something new. You can grow a garden, build something, come up with ideas for your job, or pick up new hobbies that you always wanted to try or learn. You can even plan your goals and dreams that you want to accomplish after the quarantine lifts.
- Tip Three Activities for Children 🧒🧒
Lastly, I wanted to focus on parents and what they can do to keep their kids entertained and more productive for themselves. These can be things like helping you around the house or making thier own lists and activities. Get involved with your kids and play fun games, like board games🎲, or if you have a safe space in your backyard, you can throw a football🏈 or a baseball⚾️, kick around a soccer ball⚽️, back and forth badminton🏸 or volleyball🏐, or one-on-one basketball.🏀 If you have them, you can also play indoor games like, pool🎱, ping pong, air hockey, or my personal favorite , foosball! Whoot! I love me some foosball! 😁😁😁
You can also invent your own games and have your own mini Olympics like the family below: LOL!
If you need your kids to help around the house, you can make it fun for them too. If you have a Monopoly board game, take the money💰 from it and write down chores on a white poster board or whiteboard. Add an amount of money your kid could make from doing a certain chore. (For example, cleaning their room could be $20, taking out the trash could be $5, and mowing the lawn could be $50.) You then can create a list of prizes that can be bought with the Monopoly money, like their favorite snacks, video game or bedtime privileges, toys and games they had been asking for, and anything else you can think of.
My Final Comment:
Don't think of self isolation like a jail sentence, but instead like a home vacation. They are so many various things you can do to pass the time and still have fun. If you are working from home too, use this time to give yourself a new way to do your work, think of yourself as your own boss😎 and do the job the way you would like too. For example, work outside on a nice sunny day.🌞 Take creative approaches on your work, like designing fun charts, graphs and even 3d models of things. Give yourself some relaxing breaks that you can enjoy. Time yourself as you watch some television or a funny video on youtube, play a game on your phone or computer, and you can even communicate on social media with friends and family, making sure you get back to your tasks when you are able to. 🗃🗃🗃
