Today I want to talk about smoothies. Anyone who knows me, knows that I drink A LOT of shakes and smoothies. In fact, I don’t think I have ever turned down a delicious creamy mouth watering smoothie. LOL!
Seriously though, I do love smoothies. Whenever I’m having a bad day sometimes a really good smoothie can put me in a much better mood. They are healthy and fill you up without over doing it and they have a lot of great nutrients and vitamins in them. They are a WIN WIN all around in my book. 😘
I wanted to share with you all my favorite smoothie recipe that can help you get in a great mood, as well as help your sleep quality. WOW! You have to try it. I make them often and I LOVE them! 😊😊😊
I call this smoothie “Darcy’s Swirling Strawberry Shortcake”. First, you will take one container of strawberry Greek yogurt, (I use Yoplait Greek 100, since it has less calories) and put it into the blender. Then add 1/2 cups frozen chopped strawberries and 1 cup low-fat milk (I like to use almond milk) Finally, add either half a cup cubed pound cake one (or gluten free vanilla cake) and two scoops vanilla protein powder. (I love the protein powder, since I like to drink the shakes after my daily workouts.) Blend it all together and pour in a cup!
Add a small slice of strawberry and a dollop of whipped cream as a garnish if you like. You know what to do with it next. 😉 LOL! If you double the recipe, you can make some for your friend too. (I will make you one next time I see you all!) LOL! 😉
The reason it works so well to put you in a good mood, is because strawberries have a lot of mood enhancing B6 vitamins in them.
