I know a lot of people that are addicted to their morning cup of coffee. (my Mom is one of them). 😉 I know that when you drink too much coffee you can get tired and get headaches when you stop drinking it.
If you are trying to cut back or if you love coffee but don’t want the caffeine withdrawal, instead try hazelnut milk. There are many coffee lovers out there who have given up on morning coffee and instead swear by hazelnut milk. It mimics the taste of coffee plus provides lots of energizing minerals that are great for your body.
I have made my own Hazelnut Milk recipe with a little twist, so I hope you like it.
-1 Cup Raw Hazelnuts
-2-3 Cups of Water
-Cinnamon or Nutmeg
-Honey or Stevia
Instructions: Soak one cup of raw hazelnuts in water overnight. In the morning they will look plump. Drain the water off of the nuts and place the nuts into the blender. Add two to three cups of water and blend. Take your nut mixture and strain it with a cheesecloth into a large bowl or pitcher. Finally add some cinnamon or nutmeg to taste. I also like to add some honey or stevia to sweeten it up. You can heat it up or drink it cold depending on your preference. Either way is absolutely delicious. 😉 YUMMY!
☕ Bonus: If you like Coca-Cola but want to avoid the caffeine, try a fruity fizz drink instead. You can mix sparking water or tonic water with fruits like raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. (You will want to crush the fruit so the juice comes out into the water.) If you like mint you can add that too or a drizzle of agave nectar for some extra sweetness. The natural sugar from the berries and nectar will perk you right up, but is lot healthier than the Coke.
