We only have one earth to live on, so we need to protect it. NOW! Once we use up all of our natural resources or pollute our air beyond return, then we all will be screwed! LOL! 😉 Seriously though, it is very important to start now, so what we can leave the world in a better place than when we started. So, here are some wonderful tips to go green and be an inspiration to the people and world around you. 🌏🌏🌏
Tip #1 – Create an indoor garden. House plants remove a lot of really bad organic compounds are volatile compounds emitted from such things as paint synthetic materials and cleaning supplies from the air. I went to Home Depot and got me some really cool plants and I can definitely tell the air smells a lot better. They are really pretty and low maintenance, so even those of you who are super busy will be able to care for them.
Tip #2 – Free your lint bunnies. A dirty lint filter will cause your dryer to use 30% more energy so be a clean bunny 🙂 🙂
Tip #3- Switch to sponges for your daily clean up. One sponge can last the equivalent of 17 rolls of paper towels and what I do is I like to put in the microwave for 2 minutes each week to get rid of all the germs. (Do not do this with the metallic sponges and just make sure that it’s not it’s really wet to avoid a potential fire hazard.)
Tip #4 – Set your wash cycle to cold. Environmental Advocates say that the cold wash will clean laundry just as well the hot one and you can save up to $65 or more a year.
Tip #5 – Rethink on your lawn care. I found out that grass needs only about 1 inch of water a week (including rain, if you get rain. LOL!) to stay healthy. You can install a rain gauge outside. Also to save on your bills, water at night or in the early morning when the sun is not so intense and the water won’t evaporate as quickly.
Tip #6- Green your Gifts. Unless you know exactly what someone wants as a gift, give them a gift like show tickets or restaurant gift certificates, instead of material presents. That way you know they will enjoy the gift and you won’t be buying them something that they don’t really need. Gifts like these also cost less to package and leave your family and friends with great memories and not too much clutter.
This is your world, so just remember that all the little things do add up on a daily basis.
Wishing you lots of love and joy.
